  • Skills & builds
    Rework

Socket colors no longer restrict gem placement

A gem can use any socket color; only a matching color grants the color bonus. When a colored socket appears, its color is still weighted by the item's attribute requirements.

  • Skills & builds
    Rework

Vaal Orbs, Chromatics, and bench crafts have new color roles

The Vaal socket outcome creates one random red, green, or blue socket without attribute weighting. A Chromatic Orb guarantees one colored socket, while bench crafts can guarantee two or three.

  • Skills & builds
    Mixed

    Socket-color Uniques received targeted updates

Diala's Malefaction now grants 20% quality from its green-socket modifier instead of 30%. Skin of the Loyal and Skin of the Lords now generate with six colored sockets.

  • League & crafting
    New

Charts are tradable and Voyages combine nine Charts

Charts are fully tradable and can be stockpiled while mapping. Each Voyage is assembled from nine Charts.

  • League & crafting
    New

Lanterns point toward rewards without revealing their type

Each placed lantern points toward the nearest scattered reward but does not identify its category. Players can place lanterns manually or automatically.

  • League & crafting
    New

    Allflame outcomes are independent

Allflame crafting repeats the selected currency action against the original item, and its separate outcomes do not block one another.

  • League & crafting
    New

Vaal Orbs and multi-output inputs are excluded

Vaal Orbs do not work with Allflame crafting. Crafting inputs that produce more than one output are also unsupported.

  • Endgame & loot
    Rework

Abyss gains categorized rewards and a pinnacle boss

Abyss completion chests now use defined reward categories, and the rework adds a pinnacle boss. Existing Abyss liches keep their drops.

  • Endgame & loot
    New

Legion crystals create vestigial Unique armour

Eligible uncorrupted Unique armour can be enshrouded into a random core-drop Unique of the same armour category. The output gains a designated modifier from the input as an implicit.

  • League & crafting
    Rework

Temporary Mercenaries start in Act 3

Temporary Mercenaries begin appearing in Act 3 and help for the rest of the current area. Their fixed equipment lets GGG balance them more strongly than permanent hires.

  • Skills & builds
    Rework

Transfigured gems move from Heist to Mercenaries

Transfigured skill gems no longer drop from Heist and instead return to Mercenaries in 3.29.

  • Endgame & loot
    Mixed

    Non-Unique synthesis implicits are removed

GGG is removing non-Unique synthesized implicit bases from the general item system. Synthesis Unique items remain unchanged and can still carry synthesis implicits.

  • League & crafting
    New

New Chaos bench crafts reroll one or three modifiers

One new bench craft removes one modifier and adds one. A second craft removes three modifiers and adds three.

  • Endgame & loot
    New
    Planned

In-game price checking and a build planner are planned

GGG plans to add in-game price checking and a build planner to Path of Exile 1, but Mark Roberts gave no release timing for either tool.

  • Endgame & loot
    Rework
    Considering

A focused Bestiary rework is under consideration

Mark Roberts said the current likely direction is a focused Bestiary rework alongside a future league, similar in scope to the 3.29 Abyss and Legion passes.
